Fine and rare Coalport plate painted by Tom Keeling, circa 1901.This is a beautiful example of a fine cabinet plate with gilt gadrooned rim featuring a rare subject – a scene of ''Mother and Child'' after Joshua Reynolds.Thomas Keeling was born in 1864 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. He started his career at Copeland and spent there a couple of years painting figure subjects on tiles. In the early 1900 he moved to Coalport where he worked for nearly a decade as a principal artist specialising in fruit, animal studies, figures and portrait heads.The plate is signed ''T.
