Description

Gents silver wrist watch, 1927.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown, and 31.5mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks on the back of the watch for London 1927 with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell. From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail. The case has light surface marking but is very acceptable for a 1920s piece.

The convex lens is in good condition, again just very light surface marking.

The dial is in its original finish with original hands.

A later leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
