This fabulous antique offering box which is hand made of wood dates from c1900, originates from France and comes with it''s key.
This rectangular locking church collection box is nicely made with a long wood handle, can be locked/opened to the underside using it''s key and is decorated with the wording Taxe Sur Chaises and 25 cmes to the front.
This rare religious piece would have been used in a church as in some churches occupants would have been charged a pew rent of 25 centimes to sit in a designated private pew seat. This fee would have been used for the upkeep of the church.
This interesting and decorative religious antique has a great look and looks stunning on display. Would make a unique collector''s piece.
