A finely crafted Syrian octagonal side table dating to circa 1920, featuring elaborate marquetry inlay in traditional Levantine geometric designs. Constructed from a variety of hardwoods with mother of pearl inlays, this piece exemplifies Syrian craftsmanship during the early 20th century.
The hinged top opens to reveal a red-lined interior, suggesting its original use as both a side table and a discreet storage cabinet. Each of the eight vertical panels is meticulously decorated, showcasing complex star motifs and interlocking patterns that reflect strong Islamic artistic influence, characteristic of Damascene and broader Syrian design traditions.
