Fine and Rare Kpm Berlin Handpainted Neuzierat Cup and Saucer, C1890

Description

This is a stunning porcelain cup and saucer made by world renowned German manufacturer KPM (Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur), Berlin in the end of 19th century.

The cup and saucer are potted in a beautiful Neuzierat mould in finest hard-paste porcelain of an excellent quality, smooth and white.

Both pieces are exquisitely decorated with finely painted reserves with romantic garden scenes surrounded with raised gilt rococo scrolls and floral elements on a beautiful, muted mint colour ground profusely painted with elaborate gilt pattern.

The handle of the cup and rims of the pieces are also highlighted with gold and the inside rim of the cup is further decorated with a band of delicate gold filigree.

A rare find and a superb piece for a fine collection!

Dimensions:

Cup – 5.8 cm high, top diameter – 6 cm.

Saucer – 11.2 cm.

Condition: excellent, no damage or repairs and virtually no wear to both pieces.
