In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1920s.
It is made from fairly light gauge copper and the interior is tinned. The base is stamped '6' above 'U-C.M.S.C'. There is a small hole in the back where it would have once had a hanging hook.
It has been well used and has developed a lovely patina. We have only gently cleaned the copper to retain the patina but it could be polished further if desired. There are no major damages but there are some signs of age and use and some dents and dings here and there. The interior tinned lining has worn in places and would probably be best for display now rather than use.
