A Quaint and Primitive Pine Bench Circa 1820

Spring/Summer sale price.

An unusual primitive pine bench 4 foot 8 inches long retaining the original painted surface finish. The top cut from a segment of seasoned pine trunk. The splayed legs of square section, reducing to round and staked right through to the top surface, resulting in very sturdy joints. A very charming country bench with lots of character and in sound original aged condition, with good seating height of 18 inches, or alternatively a coffee table.

There are two small holes through the top which may have held a form of primitive rush light.

English vernacular, Circa 1820.
