A Smiths Ships Clock

1920 - 1940
Description

A brass cased ships clock with bevelled glass to the opening front door. A 6" painted dial with a small sweep seconds hand signed 'SMITHS ASTRAL' with a slow/fast adjuster. A well cast solid brass case. An 8-day duration timepiece mechanism. Circa 1945.

On the rear of the case is marked 'Galley' so therefore where it would have been positioned on the ship.

Width/Height 7" / 18 cms Depth 3 1/2" / 9 cms
