Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Royal Copenhagen began producing series depicting regional Danish folk costumes in the early 20th century, notably designed by artists like Carl Martin-Hansen. These pieces were created to celebrate national heritage, documenting traditional clothing styles worn by rural vendors and agricultural workers.

These figurines are crafted using hard-paste porcelain kaolin clay, slip-cast into multi-part moulds, and fired at high temperatures. Decorators apply underglaze or overglaze polychrome enamels by hand before a final glaze firing fixes the detailed colouration.

Authentic pieces feature the factory mark of three wavy blue lines beneath the glaze, representing Denmarks three waterways, along with a crown stamp. Model numbers, painter initials, and stamped inscriptions on the base further verify production period and authorship.

Porcelain figurines can be displayed as curated accent pieces on sideboards, book tower shelves, or within glass display cabinets. Grouping them alongside books or muted decorative objects allows their painted details to stand out without cluttering the visual space.

Dust figures regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a clean artist paint brush for intricate areas. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or submersion in water, particularly if cold-painted or overglaze enamels are present.
