Description

A superb set of four Victorian chairs in walnut, each with a finely carved balloon back and elegant cabriole front legs.

The pierced frames are crisply carved with scrolling acanthus and foliate motifs, showcasing the quality of the walnut and the craftsmanship of the period. The front legs are similarly well drawn, with shapely lines and sharp detailing. Each seat is traditionally upholstered in a moss green fabric with a decorative braid trim.

Full of character and refined in profile, these make a strong statement whether grouped around a table or placed individually as accent chairs in a hallway, bedroom or study.

Presented in very good antique condition with an attractive aged patina and some minor historic surface losses to the carved backs. Structurally all in good order, with one chair showing a little movement but still sound, stable and fit for use. Clean and ready to place.
