Description

A charming and conveniently proportioned George III oak chest on chest, offering generous storage and strong period presence with a timeless country house feel.

The upper section features two short over three long graduated drawers, while the lower base houses a further three full-width graduated drawers, all with later but early brass swan-neck handles and escutcheons.

Crafted in rich, figured oak with a warm patina, this commanding piece is full of 18th century character, raised on ogee bracket feet and with a moulded cornice to the top.

The top two handle plates were long ago adapted to accommodate the keyholes. Supplied with one working key which operates all but two of the drawers. Constructed in two sections for ease of movement.

Presented in very good antique condition with a rich, aged patina and surface wear consistent with age. Structurally all sound, drawers run well, clean and ready to place in the home.
