Description

From a collection of 19thc pot lids etc we have acquired ,2 19thc prattware trapot stands

They are in good unrestored condition and depicting" halt by the wayside" and "seashells:

They measure 18cms sq and 16cms square and are in perfect unrestored condition

Slight rubbing to the gilt on the " seashells" probably through usage.

UK post and packing included

All forms of payment including ccs etc

Manufactured primarily in Staffordshire during the nineteenth century, Prattware teapot stands are glazed earthenware tiles produced using polychrome underglaze transfer printing techniques popularized by F. & R. Pratt of Fenton.

These items were constructed from moulded earthenware clay, coated in a white or cream glaze, and decorated using multi-colour transfer prints, often finished with gilded highlights or coloured enamel borders.

Authentic pieces exhibit fine multi-colour transfer printing with characteristic stippling, age-appropriate crazing in the glaze, and unglazed or lightly glazed earthenware bases displaying historical wear.

These ceramic stands can be displayed vertically on wooden plate stands within dressers, integrated into wall gallery displays, or arranged on tabletops and sideboards as decorative accents.
