The rectangular sarcophagus-design tea chest mounted on a lyre-shaped column support with fine and extensive brass inlay. The lid of the caddy/chest with a panel of profuse brass inlay , with further brass string line inlay throughout.The hinged top opening to reveal a red-lined lid , the interior fitted with twin hinged and removable rectangular tea canisters together with a central glass mixing bowl. The sides of the chest fitted with original cast brass decorative ring carrying handles .Fitted with original lock and working key . In superb original condition with a rich colour and patina to the highly figured rosewood. The brass inlay all complete with no losses or lifting .
