John Cary produced his famous English county maps during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, notably in his 1787 Carys New and Correct English Atlas. His style is characterized by exceptional detail, clean copperplate engraving, clear typography, accurate scale, and distinct hand-coloured hundred boundaries.
