1920s Limit Pocket Watch, Chain and Stirrup Cup

1920s Limit pocket watch, chain and Victorian stirrup cup.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement, with 13 jewels, which is working well. The movement was made by G Thommen for Limit, importers of watches into the UK, based in Oldham, Lancashire, UK. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Star model made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case has light surface marking from use and a small “ding” on the bottom of the bezel but overall it is in nice condition for a 1920s piece.

The glass lens is in nice condition.

The signed double sunk dial is in nice condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute track.

The watch comes with a double watch albert, with each chain measuring 21cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. Also included is an antique collapsible stirrup cup with a registered design number dating back to 1886. The cup comes in its original pocket watch design case.

The watch, chain and cup come in a new presentation box.
