Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Rene Lalique transitioned from jewellery design to glassmaking in the early 20th century, revolutionising perfume packaging. Collaborations with major perfumers led to production of artistic pressed glass scent bottles defined by Art Deco and Art Nouveau aesthetics.

These vessels were manufactured using demi-cristal or lead crystal blown or pressed into metal moulds. Finishing techniques frequently involved acid-etching to create frosted textures, combined with applied stain washes or patination to highlight relief details.

Authentic pieces generally feature moulded marks, hand-engraved wheel signatures, or etched block lettering reading R. LALIQUE. Collectors also examine the precise fit of ground glass stoppers, which often feature matching hand-engraved numbers corresponding to the bottle neck.

Small glass vessels function effectively on dressing tables, vanity trays, or bedside stands. Placing frosted glass items near soft light sources emphasizes relief carving and surface texture.

Frosted glass should be dusted lightly with a soft brush or cleaned gently using mild soap and lukewarm water with a microfibre cloth. Chemical cleaners and abrasive sponges must be avoided to protect applied surface stains and original patination.
