Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco French art glass is characterised by geometric patterns, stylized natural motifs, and innovative manufacturing techniques such as press-moulding. Designers like Rene Lalique shifted glassmaking from traditional blown forms to sculptural, textured objects featuring frosted finishes, relief carving, and coloured patination.

Pieces were produced using heavy metal moulds into which molten glass was pressed or blown under pressure. Once cooled, hand-refining techniques including acid-etching, wheel-carving, enamelling, or applying coloured stains were added to highlight the relief decoration.

Authentic period pieces made during Rene Laliques lifetime typically feature signatures such as R. LALIQUE engraved, sandblasted, or moulded into the glass. Marks produced after his death in 1945 generally omit the initial R.

An Art Deco glass vessel functions effectively as a focal point on a dark wood sideboard, marble console table, or lit display cabinet. Placing the piece near ambient lighting highlights the translucency and relief details of the glass.

Wash art glass gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild, non-abrasive liquid detergent. Avoid submerging items with surface patination or stains in hot water, and never clean antique glass in a dishwasher.
