Condition

This antique Victorian ring is excellent quality, set with a stunning ruby displaying fine colour, brilliance and presence.

The high colour graded diamonds display a fine white colour and brilliance; although the diamonds are clarity graded at P1, they predominantly show no unsightly black inclusions.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique ruby rings.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian ruby cluster rings feature a central ruby encircled by diamonds, typically set in high-karat yellow gold. This style originated during the nineteenth century, popularised by preference for colourful gemstone dress rings and floral-inspired halo motifs.

These rings were commonly crafted from 18ct yellow gold or silver-topped gold mountings. Central rubies were paired with hand-cut diamonds, often featuring carved scrollwork or openwork gallery details along the shoulders.

Authentic pieces display characteristic hand-cut gemstones, such as cushion or antique cuts, alongside hand-carved scroll shoulders. Hallmarks, makers marks, and wear consistent with hand-forged gold construction also indicate genuine nineteenth-century origin.

A vibrant ruby cluster ring acts as a focal statement piece when paired with neutral tailored clothing, dark evening wear, or layered alongside slim gold bands for a modern stacked appearance.

Clean the ring gently using warm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft-bristled brush, avoiding harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners. Store the piece individually in a soft fabric-lined jewellery box to prevent harder gemstones from scratching the gold setting.
