Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency porcelain from the early nineteenth century is known for its dramatic colour schemes, opulent gilding, and intricate hand-painted detail. English manufacturers produced ornate shapes inspired by Classical and Rococo revival elements to create striking dining displays.

These pieces were typically crafted from fine bone china or soft-paste porcelain. Decorative elements were applied using overglaze enamel paints and burnished liquid gold leaf, requiring multiple kiln firings to set the colours and metallic detailing.

Authentic pieces from this period often feature handwritten pattern numbers painted on the underside rather than printed factory marks. Examination of the glaze, translucent porcelain body, and hand-applied, slightly irregular gilding helps confirm age and origin.

Display the platter upright on a plate stand inside a glazed cabinet, or style it as a flat decorative focal point on a sideboard or console table. Its bold cobalt and gold tones complement both traditional dark wood and contemporary neutral interiors.

Hand wash gently using lukewarm water and a mild dish soap, avoiding abrasive sponges or chemical cleansers. Never place antique porcelain in a dishwasher or microwave, as heat and friction will wear away the delicate gold leaf and overglaze enamel.
