Large French Art Nouveau Mantel Clock and Garniture

This impressive clock set features a woman and child holding a floral branch with a bird perched above.

A striking centrepiece, the figures are cast in bronzed spelter and stand on a beautifully variegated marble adorned with gilt ormolu.

The clock face has a pretty painted dial with Arabic numerals and a brass bezel. It retains the original hands. The maker''s name A. CARRE from Niort is marked on the dial.

The eight day movement strikes on the hour and the half hour and the movement is in working order.

The matching garniture / candelabra each hold five candles and stand on gilt ormolu feet.

The stamp ''Fabrication Française Paris Made In France'' is on the woman''s dress.

All in very good condition with only one small repair to the branch held by the child.

Packing and Delivery

We ship larger pieces, such as tables and washstands, with specialised couriers and smaller pieces, such as sculptures and lights, with FedEx or the post.

We take great care to ensure that our pieces are well-packaged for transport. Deliveries take on average between 1 week and 3 weeks (possibly longer, depending on your location, times of year and any other factors).

We have stock in Kent and France and can provide quotes to deliver from both stores. Should a piece need importing from France, the price would be DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) to include shipping, UK import VAT and customs clearance; there are no hidden costs.
