Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A kendi is a handleless pouring vessel with a distinct side spout, historically used across Southeast Asia and China for drinking and ritual washing. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, these forms were refined in fine porcelain and widely exported to European and Middle Eastern markets.

Early Qing porcelain was crafted from refined china clay (kaolin) and petuntse stone, fired at high kiln temperatures. Decorative designs were hand-painted directly onto the unfired body using cobalt oxide pigment before applying a clear glaze.

Authentic Kangxi blue and white pieces typically display a bright, vibrant cobalt blue underglaze often compared to sapphire tones, applied in distinct wash layers. The porcelain paste is smooth and white, with a clear, compact glaze finish.

A blue and white porcelain kendi functions as a focal decorative object on a sideboard, bookshelf, or mantelpiece. Its distinct silhouette pairs well with both modern minimalist backdrop arrangements and classic layered tabletop displays.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth or dry soft-bristled brush. If cleaning is required, wash gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild PH-neutral soap, avoiding abrasive pads or harsh chemicals.
