Unusual Antique English Sterling Silver Etui - 1888

Description

A charming Victorian sterling silver Etui, perhaps hung on a Chatelaine from the small silver ring. The case is beautifully decorated with all-over engine turning.

There are four small knobs, each one operating one of the tools within. The four implements are: small knife, tweezers, toothpick and a propelling pencil.

There is an oblong cartouche on the case which is where the hallmark can be found for Birmingham 1888. The makers initials P & Co. are also present for the silversmith, I believe for Plante & Company.

Excellent condition, a couple of tiny dimples mentioned purely for accuracy. 2" in length while closed excluding ring.
