Delightful English Sterling Silver Trinket or Jewellery Box by a & J Zimmerman

Description

A charming little jewellery or trinket box made from English sterling silver and made by the highly regarded A & J Zimmerman.

The beautifully shaped lid frames the interior decoration with all-over engine turning which in turn surrounds a central circular cartouche, which of course could be engraved with initials or a date by your silversmith.

The interior is lined in the original red silk and retains it's gilded finish on the inside of the domed lid. The box stands on four very pretty legs with a fleur-de-lys design joining the box.

Hallmarked for Birmingham 1916, together with the silversmith's mark for A & J Zimmerman.

Excellent condition, measuring 3" x 2" x 1 3/8" tall.
