Early Oak Close Stool Dated 1711

18th century
Description

Fine early oak close stool with moulded edge lid and with dummy drawer fronts and paneled ends. Side carrying handles. Carved with date 1711 on back with the triangle of three letters. (An interesting marriage present!!!) All in fine condition but with old replacement brass handles and interior seat missing. A little very old and dead worm to elm back - treated. Great rich colour with glowing waxed patina. FRESH ON MARKET STRAIGHT FROM SCOTTISH MANSION HOUSE.
