A Superb Edwardian Silver & Cut Glass Claret Jug

1900 - 1920
Description

A superb Edwardian silver mounted claret jug with a gorgeous cut glass body. The hallmarked silver mount is stylish and understated. The silver extends from the hinged lid, to the collar and pouring lip. The serpentine handle sweeps downwards towards the base with a 'kick' at the end. The glass body is tapering in shape and features a cut star to the pedestal base and exquisitely cut detailed strawberry diamonds, port holes and cross hatch patterns to the body. A superior piece, both practical and decorative. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no chips or cracks to the glass and no dents or splits to the silver. There is a tiny bump to the top of the handle, commensurate with age and use.

Marks :- Softening but readable. Part mark to lid.
