Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Atmos clock is a mechanical timepiece manufactured by Jaeger-LeCoultre in Switzerland that derives energy from minute environmental temperature and atmospheric pressure changes. Invented in 1928, the mechanism operates continuously without manual winding or electricity.

Atmos clocks feature a heavy brass frame with gilded finishing and clear glass side panels displaying the internal movement. The core mechanism includes a sealed capsule containing ethyl chloride gas, a 15-jewel horological movement, and a slow-twisting torsion pendulum balance.

Authentic Atmos clocks feature maker markings on the dial face, movement plate, and base casing, along with a stamped serial number near the top of the mechanical movement frame. Genuine examples exhibit high-grade gilding, precise jewel bearings, and a locking lever mechanism at the front base.

Position the clock on a solid mantelpiece, sideboard top, or executive desk where its golden brass framework can catch ambient light. Pair it with dark timber surfaces or minimalist backdrops to emphasize the exposed mechanical movement inside the glass enclosure.

Keep the clock strictly level on a vibration-free surface and lock the pendulum before any movement or transport. Clean the exterior glass panels gently with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh liquid polishing treatments that could strip the original gilded lacquer.
