Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Grand Tour Warwick Vase is a scaled reproduction of the ancient Roman marble vase discovered at Hadrians Villa in 1770. During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, European travellers acquired these metal or marble miniatures as educational souvenirs representing classical antiquity.

These items were predominantly cast in solid bronze, brass, or white metal with a patinated bronze finish. Castings were created using lost-wax or sand-casting techniques, followed by hand-chasing to refine surface details like Bacchic masks and vine tendrils.

Authentic nineteenth-century examples display natural oxidisation, casting seams, and crisp hand-chased ornamentation around the handles and relief masks. Weight is also a factor, as genuine cast-metal pieces are heavy for their scale.

A miniature bronze urn functions as a desktop paperweight, a vessel for small floral arrangements, or an accent piece displayed on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or within a bookshelf among leather-bound books.

Maintain patinated bronze by dusting regularly with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive liquid cleaners or harsh chemicals that strip original surface patination, applying a thin coat of clear microcrystalline wax annually to protect the metal.
