An early 19thC brass door stop or door porter c1850. Made of good quality brass with a cast iron weight positioned behind the bell shaped base. The simple column is topped by a pair of scrolls which are decorative as well as making the door stop easy to lift with the index and middle fingers. A classic early 19th design and in excellent condition for its age.
