An exceptional early 19th-century English porcelain sauce tureen by Flight, Barr & Barr, Worcester, dating to circa 1820. This fine example is richly decorated in the vibrant Imari palette, featuring hand-painted floral motifs in deep underglaze cobalt, iron red, and extensive gilt embellishment.
The tureen includes a domed lid with a sculpted bud finial, elegant rope twist handles with moulded gilt accents, and rests on a plinth-style base with stylised acanthus leaf supports. The base bears the impressed crowned “FBB” mark, confirming its production during the celebrated partnership period of Flight, Barr & Barr.
Flight, Barr & Barr were renowned for their exquisite porcelain wares, produced for aristocratic and royal clientele. Their pieces from this period are represented in major collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Worcester Porcelain Museum.
