An Iconic Shapland & Petter 'Lily' Mahogany Display Cabinet

1900 - 1920
Description

An iconic Shapland & Petter 'Lily' mahogany display cabinet. Having a raised top with a projecting moulded cornice, the frieze inlaid with flower heads and scrolling branches in boxwood and mother of pearl. Having a central bevel glazed door enclosing a shelved interior, mounted with open scrolling metalwork, flanking bevelled mirror plates over panelled cupboards, the panels inlaid with fanned lily heads over butterflies and scrolled tapering leaves, the upper gallery pierced with heart motifs over swelled pierced supports and balustrades. Having a single central drawer with matching inlay and raised on square tapering and block feet united by plain stretchers, the locks stamped 'S&B, B' English circa 1900
