Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, corner cupboards were created to utilise space efficiently in dining rooms and parlours, primarily serving to store and display valuable ceramics, glassware, and silver behind protective glass panels.

Authentic period pieces typically feature solid oak or pine secondary frames veneered with figured walnut, secured using hand-cut dovetail joinery and detailed with fine wood stringing or marquetry inlays.

Look for hand-blown glass panes displaying slight irregularities, original iron or brass H-hinges, hand-planed backboards, and natural oxidisation on unpainted interior wooden surfaces.

Positioning the cabinet in an underutilised room corner creates visual depth, while displaying a curated mix of contemporary ceramics or books behind the glazed doors creates a balanced contrast against modern minimalist decor.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, taking care to clean glass panes with ammonia-free cleaners to avoid damaging surrounding wood finishes.
