Pauline Chamberlain - Six Large Framed Architectural Drawings - Signed Pen and Ink

1900 - 1920
Description

Pauline Chamberlain - A Set of Six Large Architectural Drawings circa 1915 in Pen and Ink that are highly decorative. These are all signed and framed. The frames are solid and generally good condition with mounts that have 'washlines' which are decorative lines, typically drawn in watercolor, ink, or other mediums, that can be added to the mount board to enhance the artwork and create a more refined presentation. .

The six drawings are Tent and Base, Greek Doric, Erechtheum, Corinthian, Tuscan Order and Roman Ionic

Pauline Chamberlain is an interesting person born in California in 1894 and died there 1957. Her relatives from both sides came to the United States from Europe in the 1700's and her maternal grandparents were among those who made the sometimes harrowing journey from Ohio to California in about 1860 as members of the 'wagon train'. Pauline went to the University of California, Berkely in 1912 studying Architecture, where she became one of the earliest women to graduate with a Architectural Degree from the University where these drawings were completed in c1915.

These have always remained in the same family.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
