Six 19th.c. Welsh oak cottage dining chairs c.1840. Very slight differences in design on two of the chairs but all with a slightly reclined backrest featuring a shaped top rail over three moulded slats, board seats (seat height 18'') with moulded edges and raised on tapering square front legs joined with stretchers to all four sides. Note the pegged construction on all six chairs and the attractive little carved detail to the rear stiles (just below the lower stretcher on the backrest) on four of the chairs. Very well matched for size and colour. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
