A Large Pair of Japanese Painted Porcelain Ginger Jars C 1920

A most impressive and decorative fine quality large pair of early 20th century Japanese ginger jars.

This superb pair of hand painted ginger jars have an unusual pale blue ground over painted with a gilt repeat triangular shaped pattern.

The lower section is boldly decorated with iris flowers with dark blue and green stems and yellow and orange flowers.

The vases are bordered at the top and bottom with dark blue bands decorated with gilt swirls.

The elegant covers have a matching ground with distinctive large foliated borders in matching dark blue, yellow and orange.

These stunning pieces are fully signed with hand painted character marks and the word Japan.

The pair are in excellent original condition with virtually no signs of wear and no damage and restoration.
