Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A 19th-century rosewood card table is a specialized piece of accent furniture designed with a fold-over or swivel top that opens to reveal an interior playing surface, historically used for card and parlour games.

These tables are primarily constructed from solid hardwoods and rosewood veneers, featuring hand-cut mortise-and-tenon joinery, carved pedestals, turned legs, beaded mouldings, and interior playing surfaces lined with baize fabric.

Authentic period examples feature period-appropriate hand joinery, natural age-related patination on the timber, concealed well compartments beneath the swivel top, and historical brass hinges or castors.

When closed, a card table functions effectively as a hall console or side table, positioned against a wall or behind a sofa to display table lamps, books, and decorative ceramics.

Keep the timber clean by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth and applying high-grade beeswax polish along the grain, while maintaining stable indoor humidity levels away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
