Description

A Silver Jug.

The jug with a rounded spire and concave disc ebony finial, opening the hinged lid, the raised centre decorated with turning leaves, and finished at the rim rim with a raised and reed edge. The lid closing over the rounded reed rim of the body sweeping to a rounded belly, before tapering into a spreading stepped and reeded foot. The jug with a braod spout to one side, and a scrolled ebony handle, fitting within scrolled mounts.

Hallmarked for Edward Barnard & Sons, London 1936.
