An exceptional Victorian burr walnut table cabinet, the doors with central Wedgewood jasperware type plaques surrounded by decorative brass trim, flanked by twin turned columns.
Only the finest veneer has been used throughout including the back so the cabinet could easily sit in the middle of a room.
The cabinet opens to reveal the original fitted interior of 8 burr walnut drawers, all retaining their original flush fitting handles. Again all of the drawers are finished all round so they can be removed and placed on a table. To the bottom a brass button releases the secret lower drawer. This is the only drawer that is not inteded to be removed as it is not veneered to the inside edges.
With working JT Needs Bramah lock & key, the lock having been recently cleaned and serviced by Bramah and the new key cut using their original machine.
A remarkable item which would have been owned by an extremely wealthy household.
