Description

A freestanding large French faded mahogany writing desk made in c1930, unusual brass edging on the top having a an original tan leather writing surface decorated with blind and gilt tooling which has some age marks.

The front of the desk consisting of four drawers with original decorative brass escutcheons, brass mounts. Te drawer on the right is a double drawer. Two extendable slides. All keys and locks present.

Supported on four elegant turned and fluted legs terminating on brass feet. In excellent condition and having a lovely warm faded mahogany colour.

It has dummy drawers at the back meaning it can be a centre of the room piece.

It also has a secret drawer with a false bottom on one of the drawers.
