Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency sucrier is a covered sugar container designed as part of a formal tea service in Britain during the early 19th century. These vessels regularly feature Neoclassical proportions, twin side handles, and elaborate gilded surface ornament.

English porcelain of this era was primarily manufactured from bone china, combining china clay, cornish stone, and burnt bone ash. Patterns were hand-painted or bat-printed before receiving burnished gold leaf gilding.

Authentic pieces often bear painted pattern numbers, impressed factory marks, or red painted maker marks on the underside. Examination of translucent light transmission, hand-applied gilding wear, and specific body shapes helps confirm age.

An antique porcelain sugar box can be displayed as a decorative focal point on a sideboard, dresser, or coffee table tray. It functions as an accent piece within contemporary dining spaces or as a small covered container on a vanity.

Gilded porcelain requires gentle hand washing using warm water and mild liquid soap, avoiding abrasive pads or mechanical dishwashers. Drying with a soft microfibre cloth prevents water spots and protects delicate gold leafing from surface abrasion.
