''This wonderful little bureau is of a form which is rarely found and it is even rarer to find one that has survived in this kind of condition.It retains a quaite wonderful colour and patina to the highly figured walnut veneers and these are decorated with attractive feather banded inlay decoration. There are of course various minor old marks, scuffs, scrapes and repairs but certainly nothing of any consequence and for something which is over 300 years old that is quite remarkable. The brass handles are replacements but have been in place for a very long time and are certainly antique themselves.The bureau has a real classy and elegant look and feel to it, which in combination with the incredibly functional small size, allowing it to be placed in just about any space one can think of around the home, means it is of the most desirable form possible.
