This is an exceptional and unique example of an antique spirit flask in Solid 18ct gold and cut lead crystal.
Bespoke made in 1905 for the 5th Duke and Duchess of Wellington by the crown jewellers Asprey of London.
Its in near perfect condition with only a few small marks to the gold cap.
The gold lower section of the flask is removeable to act as a cup.
It is fully hallmarked with the Asprey Mark, the London assay office marks for 18ct gold and the date year letter for 1905
The total 18ct gold weight is 48 grams, the cup weighs 30 grams, the hinged cap and collar a further 18 grams giving it a considerable value in gold alone.
The flask is 4 1/2 inches tall 2 1/4 inches wide and has a capacity of 60 millilitres or 2 fluid ounces.
Its in full useable condition the bayonet hinged cap seals perfectly with no leaks.
This would be the pinnacle of any flask collection and superb item to bring out on race day.
