A very large Regency Derby porcelain sugar bowl with raised side handles with moulded acanthus leaf detail to the lower half and melon fluting to the top. Painted with the opulent pattern number 731 with a gilded flowering vine with spiralled tendrils and leaves and underglaze blue stylised flowers and buds. Foliate gilt decoration to the shoulders below the handles and further gilt highlights to the handles and rims. Red painted mark with the pattern number and gilder number 17, c.1820.
It measures 19cm (7 1/2'') wide across the handles and 14cm (5 1/2'') wide across the body and 11.5cm (4 1/2'') high to the handles.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear.
