Description

A tiny weeny little Georgian mourning brooch with a glazed centrepiece of neatly braided blond hair within an ornate golden frame.

SIZE: 1.5 x 1.2cm.

WEIGHT: 2.0g.

MATERIALS: Nine-carat gold cased, glass, hair.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None.

CONDITION: In very good antique condition, the gold casing has worn a little on the back and under strong magnification there's the tiniest chip at one corner of the glass.

ERA: Georgian (c.1714-1837).
