Oak Masonic Deed Chest Coffee Table

Description

A handsome antique oak Masonic deed chest dating from circa 1920. In well-figured quarter swan oak, the lid features a brass plaque which reads “Pentalpha 974 Presented by Harold Mitchell 1925”. Pentalpha 974 is a Masonic lodge in Baildon founded in 1863. The lid locks and comes with a working key, and lifts on a brass hinge to reveal ample storage space inside. With wonderful solid brass carry handles to the sides for ease of movement. Perfect to use as a coffee table with added storage or as a lockable under bed storage box.

Good condition with good patina and colour. Wear and Marks to the top commensurate with age. The handles are slightly different.
