Description

Two antique stone mortars. Of matched design, carved from square blocks of stone with notched corners. The slightly smaller one (7½" wide and deep x 7" tall) is carved with the date 1730 and the initial ME. The other (8" wide and deep x 7½" tall) is carved with the initials HRM and has a repaired split across the back left hand corner.
