A lovely silver vesta case with gilded interior, a sprung hinged lid and a body that is chased and engraved in order to simulate a crocodile skin, made by Deakin and Francis in 1888. The firm was established in 1786 and holds over 238 years of reputation for producing fine jewellery, handmade cufflinks, chatelaines, dressing sets, vesta cases and napkin rings.
The vesta case presents D & F, the Lion passant, the Birmingham assay mark, and date letter ‘o’ for 1888.
