A good Japanese Meiji period carved wood shagreen netsuke depicting a flatfish anatomically correct with gilt highlights on its fins and down its back, the mother of pearl rimmed himatoshi on the underside. This beautiful netsuke is in excellent condition and measures 3 ¼ inches in length.
