Victorian Rosewood Open Bookcase

19th century
Description

A beautiful rosewood bookcase of the highest quality dating from the mid 19th Century. The bookcase has an open front with one large shelf flanked by rounded columns with carved corbels. The top has a crossbanded edge and has two concealed drawers below that sit perfectly flush against the frame.

It is in excellent condition for its age and displays beautifully. The rosewood has a lovely rich colour and it has developed a beautiful patina. There are a couple of minor signs of age and use, a few marks on the top surface and a couple of small repairs to the edging but nothing detrimental and no major damages. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
