Description

George Hamilton Constantine 1878-1967.Sheffield artist who studied at the Sheffield College of Art.In the 1930d he became assistant to Sir William Rothstein who was Professor of Civic Art at Sheffield University .Constantine became Director of the Graves Art Gallery in the 1950s.He exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and the Royal Academy.He did not need to exhibit his work as there was a steady demand for it here and New York. ‘Hauling the Seaweed Cart’ signed watercolour,image size 16x23cms,framed size 37.5x44 cms.Newly framed with a wash line mount.Excellent strong colours.
