Arthur Claude Strachan 1865-1939.Born in Edinburgh he was a fine landscape watercolourist best known for his beautiful and sentimental pictures of flower wreathed cottages and village scenes.Strachan studied at the Liverpool College of Art and later travelled throughout Great Britain in order to paint the country life which he loved to portray.Exhibited at the Birmingham Art Gallery,The Walker Art Gallery,Liverpool and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour. ‘Young Girl outside a Cottage Garden’ signed watercolour,image size 45x28 cms cms, framed size 66x48 cms.Beautifully presented in a regilded period frame
